Houston BBQ Throwdown 2017

This past weekend was super busy for us. It was all about the 'cue. We headed to Dallas Saturday morning for Smoked Dallas. On Sunday, we drove down to Houston for the third annual Houston BBQ Throwdown on Sunday. It is one of my favorite events, and I would not miss it for the world. It is not your average barbecue festival. It brings out the creativity and culinary skills in each pitmaster. The competition is fierce and gets elevated every year. Here are the entries:

People's choice

With so many great bites, the competitors definitely brought their A game. The crowd voted Tin Roof as their favorite. With such a strong field, the judges (Alison Cook, Wayne Mueller, Ronnie Killen, Robert Lerma & D'Artagnan Bebel) awarded a tie at the top between Beaver's and El Burro & the Bull. If you did not go this time, do not miss out on the next event. It will be an Austin versus Houston throwdown this December. It is going to be fun.

Until next time, happy smoking...
